Just over 200 flower and rhinestone buttons, gold and black lace, then the white skirt was an a@@ load of bow pleated trim.

It also doesn't look like something an old lady would wear, it's young but not too young. *squee*
It's hard too see in this photo but the obi has Sakura and silver pinstripes running through it. Now to make a hair accesory and an obi dangle.
I'm so tempted to go back an order another one but I think this is a good start.
I think I'll wear it to Dragoncon perphaps to the Gimmie Gimmie Pillow Toast event next friday. =3
I'll definatly need to practice my kitsuke a bit before wearing it, note to self , pad waist and make some elastic bands. ^_^

Here is the one photo of Dahlia, Beverly and I from Friday night. ^_^ Disentigration once again proved to be good times with the added bonus of being Steampunk themed!
There were 2 or 3 other Steampunk dressed people there, but that's kind of how Victorian Apocaylpse was. lol
I need to eventually get to work on mine but I only have 3 major costumes between now and then. XD I have found some good goggles I would like to get and modify. Because apparently you can't be steampunk without them. *snerk*

I'm ready to get these and pannier finished so I can work on the Riding Habit pattern. =D
Next comes all the handsewing so that slows everything down a bit, but it's worth it. ^_^
I got my Chemise de Reine pattern in the mail today, I don't know when I'll make it but the pattern was on sale so I hoped on it!
I need more things in my life to made of silk. I love 17th century styles. Yes, yes I do.

I finished drafting the pattern for my new 18th century stays. =D I'm excited to make a new pair, my others while cute just don't fit quite right. ( I used a commerical pattern and didn't alter it, silly me!)
I'm even considering sewing my own eyelets. (Yes, I know there is a special level of costume hell for people like that, but metal eyelets suck enough on thier own.)
Now to make a muslin, and decide what color to edge it in. =3

This Petticoat was inspired by this one at Angelic Pretty (http://www.angelicpretty.com/shopping/i
I love my last petti (http://pupe.jp/item/1HOsF3m1jN2J/)
If you click on the pick there is moare explaination of the pattern and construction, I you ever want to make a petticoat I'm more than willing to lend a hand. I love making them!
I also got Corsets and Crinolines in the mail yesterday. =D I'm so excited to use it for the next round of period goodness.
No, she is not named after Ran from Gals, Ran means Water Lily (my birth flower) in Japanese and her eyes are a gorgeous purple grey color. ^_^ It also fits with the theme of everyone else (Momo, Ume, Midori, Murasaki, and Sakura). I thought about Ren but I'm saving that for a boy doll (NERD!) or Nadeshiko, but Ran just fit. ^_^
She is my first SD sized doll and one of the loveliest dolls I've ever seen. She also came as a complete set with head to toe Baby the Stars Shine Bright gear, her outfit is to die for! I'm a bit sad it didn't come with a bag but I can dream. ^^
There are a few more photos in my flickr gallery if you click on the photo. *squeeee*
I also got a volks Membership Card so one day I can actually go to a Dolpa!

It's located in the Highlands on 32nd where all the cute boutiques and fabulous food is (Julia Blackbirds anyone?). ^_^
Mom and I stopped by Happy Cakes on the way home yesterday, They are an adorable little shop with very tasty cuppies. In my opinion they are better than Yum Yums (which is in the Pavillions)
I tried the Red Velvet and Chocolate with vanilla frosting. Both had a good balance of frosting and density of cake. All in all Happy Cakes is great! I'll definatly go there again, anyone intrested?
The little cafe/cooking school next door has excellent coffee, they best latte I've had since I was in Austin. =D
